The success of NEPAS is due largely to the trained trustees and volunteers whose personal and professional experiences of adoption, present skills and practical knowledge has been central to the development of this independent Organisation
If you would like to help or contribute towards assisting beneficiaries whose lives have been touched by the adoption experience please complete the appropriate Trustee or Volunteer Application Form.
Activities of a Trustee:
Anyone 18 or over can be a Trustee. You don't have to have a particular qualification or experience. However, our constitution states that two thirds of its members must have been touched by the Adoption experience. Trustees are the people responsible for managing charities and carry legal responsibilities.

In brief what a Trustee must do?

  • Be familiar with the charity's constitution, which lists its aims and how it administers itself.
  • Support the charity's purposes
  • Act according to the charity's constitution and also within the law.
  • Act both individually and together as a committee to control the charity
  • Act only in the best interest of the charity and not in your own interests.
  • A Trustee must not derive any personal benefit or gain from the charity

More information on being a trustee can be found on:
www.charity-commission.gov.uk/publications/cc3.asp.
